RULES AND CONDITIONS
1. The Competition is open to girls and boys, age on the 1st September will determine the class each exhibitor enters.
2. One exhibitor qualifies from each qualifying show for the Final.
3. Animals can be of any Beef breed, male, or female (pedigree or non-pedigree beef) and must be leading.
4. An exhibitor can show an animal belonging to another herd owner.
5. Junior exhibitors will exhibit an animal male or female calf born on or after 1stSeptember 2025.
6. Calf identity cards to be available for inspection on show day.
7. Exhibitors may be asked for proof of their age at the final.
8. An adult may aid an exhibitor in the junior class if deemed necessary.
9. No Entries will be accepted on the day of the Qualifying Show.
10. Previous 1st Place Winners are no longer eligible to enter this age category.
11. The Qualifying Exhibitor must fill out their own Qualifying Card at each QualifyingShow. Completed card and entry fee must be handed into the secretary’s officeon show day.
THE COMPETITION WILL BE JUDGED ON CRITERIA, WHICH MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
a. The ability to handle and present the animal to its best advantage in the Show Ring.
b. General knowledge about the animal itself, including its feeding, breeding, etc.
c. Stock Judging, the ability to judge and place a group of animals.
d. Personal presentation ofstock person.
e. Presentation of the animal.

Entry Fee: To Qualifying Show: €10 To Final: €15
PRIZES: 1st - €500 - 2nd €300 – 3rd €200 – 4th €150 – 5th €125 6th to 10th €100
FINAL: ROYAL MEATH SHOW Sunday 6th September 2026

Please note - no 2nd prize in the case of less than 3 entries, and no 3rd prize in the case of less than 5 entries, unless in the opinion of the Judge there is sufficient merit shown. Classes may be combined where there are insufficient entries

ALL ANIMALS MUST HAVE SNAFFLES
ANIMALS WILL NOT BE JUDGED IF COMPETITOR NUMBER IS NOT DISPLAYED, MOVEMENT CARD, AND BLUE CARD TO BE HANDED IN TO THE SECRETARY'S TENT.

Entry fee €5. NO ENTRIES TAKEN ON THE DAY
Prizes: 1st €60, 2nd €40, 3rd €20, unless otherwise stated.
Vouchers may be issued in lieu of prize money
Animals can be any breed, pedigree or non pedigree, dairy or beef and must be leading. Animals must be under 12 months on Show Day. An adult may assist exhibitor if necessary for safety. Judging will be on presentation of animal & handler, knowledge of animal & ability to handle animal.
